The Belgrade city government said in December it is launching a tender for the reconstruction and operation of the Sava congress centre. Interested investors should send letters of interest by January 31 and prove that they had an annual revenue of at least 20 million euro in the last three years and enough workforce to manage the congress centre.
Under the second phase of the tender, qualified investors should submit by February 28 a financial offer of at least 12.5 million euro for the reconstruction of the congress centre, a reconstruction plan, as well as a business plan for the management of Sava centre in the next ten years.
The Belgrade city government plans to set up a joint venture for the operation of the congress centre with the winner of the tender. The city government will hold a 51% stake in the joint venture, while a 49% shareholding interest will be owned by the contractor.
The Sava congress centre has a total area of 100,000 sq m, including a 4,000-seat theatre hall, 15 conference halls, an exhibition area, restaurants, bars, offices and shops.
