BELGRADE (Serbia), March 19 (SeeNews) – Delta Sport Group, the fashion and sports division of Serbian diversified group Delta Holding, said it plans to open at least 10 Zara clothing stores.
The move will bring the Zara brand to shoppers outside Belgrade, the Director of Delta Sport Group's fashion arm, Sanja Dzakovic, said in a statement posted on Delta Holding's website earlier this week.
The statement provided no further details.
Delta Sport Group is the franchise partner for Serbia and Montenegro for the Zara flagship brand of Spain's Inditex as well as for its Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka and Oysho brands.
The first Zara outlet in Serbia opened in the capital Belgrade four years ago. Delta Sport Group has since added two more stores in Belgrade and one in Novi Sad.
Since their launch, the Zara outlets in Serbia have been visited by 40 million shoppers and have sold 6.0 million items, the statement said.
Delta Sport Group also has one Zara outlet in Montenegrin capital Podgorica.
Delta Holding is owned by Miroslav Miskovic, a Serbian tycoon who emerged in the early 1990s during the rule of ex-Yugoslav strongman Slobodan Milosevic.
