BELGRADE (Serbia), February 23 (SeeNews) – Serbia's consumer prices rose by 1.1% year-on-year in January, after growing by 1.3% in December, official statistics show.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) edged up 0.4% in January, after rising by 0.1% in December, according to figures published by the national statistical office on Monday.
In January, the biggest price increase in annual terms was registered in communications (7.8%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco (5.2%) and recreation and culture (4.6%).
In monthly terms, the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up 2.2%, prices of transport increased by 1.3% and prices in the sector of recreation and culture rose 0.9% in January.
