October 13 (SeeNews) - Serbia's consumer prices rose by 5.7% year-on-year in September, after growing by 4.3% in August, official statistics showed.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) went up 0.8% in September, after rising by 0.9% in August, according to figures published by the national statistical office.
In September, the biggest price increase in annual terms was registered in transport (9.2%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.3%) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.8%).
In monthly terms, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up 2.3%, prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased 0.5%.
