December 20 (SeeNews) - Serbia's current account deficit rose to 1.995 billion euro ($2.287 billion) in the first ten months of 2018, from 1.597 billion euro in the like period of last year, the central bank, NBS, said.
Trade in goods showed a deficit of 4.942 billion euro in the January-October period, while trade in services recorded a surplus of 1.068 billion euro, data posted on the website of NBS showed.
Primary income deficit amounted to 2.12 billion euro, whereas surplus in secondary income came in at 3.999 billion euro in the first ten months of 2018.
In October alone, Serbia's current account balance deficit fell to 169 million euro from a deficit of 67 million euro in the like period of last year.
In 2017, Serbia's current account deficit widened to 2.09 billion euro from 1.075 billion euro in the previous year.
