December 21 (SeeNews) - Serbian company Benkom has invested 15 million euro ($17.1 million) in the construction of a soybean processing factory in Obrenovac, near Belgrade, finance ministry Sinisa Mali said on Friday.
The company has opened 60 jobs at the factory, which has a footprint of 14,000 square metres, Mali said during the official opening of the production plant, according to a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug.
The factory will produce hexane-extracted soy protein that will be exported, the deputy director of Bankom, Mladen Pesut, said during the start of the construction works of the factory in May 2017.
Bankom operates a soybean processing factory, animal feed factory, as well as factories for the production of premixes and raw materials for animal feed. The company also operates factories for the production of milk replacers for animal consumption, bases for ice cream and milk replacers for human consumption, as well as a meat processing factory.
