BELGRADE (Serbia), September 14 (SeeNews) – Belgrade city authorities intend to launch a 20 million euro ($23.4 million) tender for reconstruction of four central streets by the end of 2018, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The project, which is aimed at improving the public transport infrastructure in the Serbian capital, will include the reconstruction of the Kraljice Marije, 27 Marta, Dzordza Vasingtona and Cara Dusana streets, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.
The contractor will be in charge of the reconstruction of tram tracks, refurbishment of existing pavement structure, sidewalks and overhead contact lines, and installation of new public lightning, traffic signalisation and management systems, the EBRD said.
The City of Belgrade will use the proceeds of an extension to an existing loan from the EBRD to finance the project.
