BELGRADE (Serbia), March 14 (SeeNews) - Serbian-registered company Bauwesen has started the construction of a bridge over the Begej channel in Zrenjanin, the local government said.

The bridge is part of a bigger project for the construction of a 3.7 km-long section of the ring road of the town of Zrenjanin, in northern Serbia, the local government said in a statement on Wednesday.

In October, Serbia's Energoprojekt [BEL:ENHL] signed a 423.2 million dinars ($4.1 million/3.6 million euro) contract for the construction of the ring road section with public roads company Putevi Srbije. Energoprojekt participates in the project through its unit Energoprojekt Niskogradnja [BEL:EPNS] in consortium with Bauwesen. The construction works should be completed within 320 days.
