September 12 (SeeNews) - Serbia's consumer prices rose by 11.5% year-on-year in August, after increasing by an annual 12.5% the month before, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) went up by 0.4% in August, after falling by 0.1% in July, the statistical office said in a monthly inflation report.
The biggest price increases in annual terms were observed in the sector of restaurant and hotel services, by 18.7%, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages, up 16.9%, and housing, water and energy and household equipment and maintenance, up 15.8%.
On a monthly comparison basis, prices of transport increased by 2.8% in August. Recreation and culture activities added 1.6%, restaurants and hotels rose 0.7% and prices of housing, water and energy went up by 0.6%.
