August 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia's foreign trade deficit for January-July narrowed by 6.0% on the year to 2.21 billion euro ($2.47 billion), statistic office data showed on Wednesday.
The country's exports rose 8.9% on the year to 7.69 billion euro, while imports grew 5.2% to 9.9 billion euro, the data indicated.
The export-import ratio increased to 77.7% from 75.0% in the first seven months of 2015.
In July alone, exports increased by an annual 1.8% to 1.11 billion euro, while imports edged up 0.5% to 1.38 billion euro.
Serbia’s main export markets in January-July were Italy and Germany with $1.38 billion and $1.13 billion worth of exports, respectively, while most imports came from Germany ($1.42 billion), Italy ($1.12 billion), Russia ($895.4 million), and China ($893.7 million).
