February 4 (SeeNews) - Serbia's budget surplus fell to 12.8 billion dinars ($120 million/109 million euro) in 2019 from 32.2 billion dinars in the previous year, official figures showed.
Primary budget surplus declined to 119.6 billion dinars last year from 137.7 billion dinars in 2018, according to data published by the finance ministry earlier this week.
Total budget revenues increased to 1.275 trillion dinars from 1.179 trillion dinars, while expenditure went up to 1.262 trillion dinars from 1.147 trillion dinars in 2018.
Tax revenues rose to 1.104 trillion dinars in 2019 from 1.006 trillion dinars a year earlier, non-tax revenues decreased to 158.6 billion dinars from 159.2 billion dinars, and grants went down to 12.3 billion dinars from 13.1 billion dinars.
On the expenditure side, current expenditure rose to 1.059 trillion dinars, from 981.4 billion dinars, while capital expenditure climbed to 184.2 billion dinars from 141.2 billion dinars in 2018.
In December alone, Serbia reported a budget deficit of 49.5 billion dinars, based on revenues of 121.1 billion dinars and expenditure of 170.6 billion dinars. The primary deficit totalled 46.8 million dinars.
