January 8 (SeeNews) - Serbia's budget surplus fell to 62.2 billion dinars ($589.2 million/529.5 million euro) in the first eleven months of 2019 from 67.4 billion dinars in the prior-year period, official figures showed.
Primary budget surplus declined to 166.3 billion dinars in January-November from 167.8 billion dinars in the like period of 2018, according to data published by the finance ministry earler this week.
Total budget revenues increased to 1.153 trillion dinars from 1.074 trillion dinars, while expenditure went up to 1.091 trillion dinars from 1.006 trillion dinars in the first eleven months of 2018.
Tax revenues rose to 1.0 trillion dinars in January-November 2019 from 921.1 billion dinars a year earlier, non-tax revenues increased to 144.8 billion dinars from 142.6 billion dinars, and grants went down to 7.8 billion dinars from 10.1 billion dinars.
On the expenditure side, current expenditure rose to 947.4 billion dinars, from 869.9 billion dinars, while capital expenditure climbed to 127.6 billion dinars from 115.1 billion dinars in January-November 2018.
In November alone, Serbia reported a budget deficit of 2.5 billion dinars, based on revenues of 105.6 billion dinars and expenditure of 108.1 billion dinars. The primary surplus totalled 382.5 million dinars.
Serbia's budget was in surplus of 32.2 billion dinars in 2018, compared to a surplus of 33.9 billion dinars in the previous year.
