January 13 (SeeNews) - Serbian sock manufacturer Valy will open a factory in the western municipality of Ljig, where it will employ 200 workers, local media reported.
“After several decades of stagnation of industrial development in the municipality, we have finally managed to bring the first investor here,” news portal Glas Zapadne Srbije quoted Ljig mayor, Dragan Lazarevic, as saying.
According to the Serbian business registry, Valy is wholly-owned by Italy’s Golden Lady Company. Valy was founded in June 2001 with a capital of 10.3 million dinars ($95,500/88,400 euro)
SeeNews calls to Ljig municipal authorities and an email to Golden Lady Company seeking details of the planned investment went unanswered by the time this article was published.
