BELGRADE (Serbia), January 8 (SeeNews) – Serbian lender Jubmes Banka [BEL:JMBN] plans to change its name to Alta Banka, it said.
The board of directors has called an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on January 30 to propose the change in the bank's name, Jubmes Banka said in a filing with the Belgrade Stock Exchange earlier this week.
A decision to rename the bank shall enter into force after Serbia's central bank gives consent to amendments of the lender's registration with the Business Registers Agency, Jubmes said.
In May, Serbia's government sold its entire 28.51% stake in Jubmes Banka to local financial firm Alta Pay Group for 5.0 million euro ($5.6 million), as part of a broader reform of the country's financial system.
According to data from Jubmes Banka's balance sheet for the first half of 2019, Alta Pay is its largest single shareholder in Jubmes Banka with a stake of 28.51%. Other shareholders control less than 6% each.
