April 17 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Serbian insurance companies increased 36.7% last year, reaching 9.072 billion dinars ($87 million/77 million euro), business registry data showed.
The insurance companies' total operating income grew 5.6% to 86.851 billion dinars, while expenses grew 4.6% to 54.079 billion dinars, Serbia's Business Register Agency said in a report issued on Tuesday
The combined income from insurance and coinsurance premiums grew 5.4% to 83.716 billion dinars, whereas income from reinsurance premiums went up 9.6% to 1.493 billion dinars.
Insurance management costs increased 6.3% to 30.521 billion dinars, while expenses for investment in insurance assets shrank to 1.107 billion dinars from 5.326 billion dinars.
The total number of employees of Serbian insurance companies declined by 2.2% to 10,649 last year.
