August 26 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-owned insurer Dunav Osiguranje [BEL:DNOS] has said its net profit rose to 1.31 billion dinars ($12.4 million/11.1 million euro) in the first half of 2019 from 676.2 million dinars in the like period of last year.
The insurer's premium income rose 3.3% on the year to 12.5 billion dinars in the first half, while pre-tax profit increased to 1.3 million dinars, up 92.7%, Dunav Osiguranje said in a filing with the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday.
The premium income from life insurance came in at 1.2 million dinars, up 10.6% year-on-year, and non-life insurance premium income fell 4.3% to 13.5 billion dinars.
Operating costs declined by 5.4% to 8 billion dinars, Dunav Osiguranje's balance sheet for the first half of 2019 showed.
