BELGRADE (Serbia), October 26 (SeeNews) – Serbian economy minister Goran Knezevic said on Thursday the government's incentives programme attracted investment projects worth 386.6 million euro ($454.6 million) in 2016 and 2017.
The incentives programme allowed the opening of 23,467 jobs in the period, as 27 companies decided to reinvest in the country, Knezevic said, as quoted in a statement by the economy ministry.
Earlier on Thursday, the economy ministry said Serbia received an Investment Performance Network Certificate of Achievement from the World Bank for the application of reforms attracting foreign investors.
Earlier this week, Trivunac said foreign direct investment (FDI) into Serbia stood at 1.2 billion euro in the seven months through July.
The net inflow of FDI into Serbia rose to 1.09 billion euro in the first half of 2017, from 923.7 million euro in the like period of last year, according to data from Serbia's central bank.
