February 3 (SeeNews) - Serbian beekeeping association SPOS plans to open in March a 1.5 million euro ($1.7 million) centre for collection and wholesale of honey in Raca, the president of the association, Rodoljub Zivadinovic, has said.
"We are building a hub for the wholesale of honey produced by our members without intermediaries and this is our main task for this year," Zivadinovic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Saturday.

In 2018, SPOS signed a 98.5 million dinars ($927,000/840,000 euro) contract with local construction cooperative Pionir Vlasotince for the building of of the honey hub in Raca, central Serbia.
The honey collection centre will be operated by Serbian company Nas Med, a subsidiary of SPOS incorporated in July 2017. SPOS controls 80% of the capital of Nas Med, while the Raca city government owns 20%, according to data by the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
