April 15 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government aims to provide financing for expansion of the country's state-owned enterprises across Southeastern Europe (SEE) after the end of the coronavirus crisis, president Aleksandar Vucic has said.
"There will be shortage of money in the region. We will support an expansion of our state-owned companies in various places across the region, but I would not reveal more details now," Vucic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of public broadcaster RTS on Tuesday.
The government plans to strengthen flag carrier Air Serbia and other state-owned companies through acquisition of corporate securities and other measures, Vucic said.
Last week, the president said the government plans to provide state aid to power utility EPS, Air Serbia and Telekom Srbija to help them cope with the economic consequences of the coronavirus outbreak.
