BELGRADE (Serbia), February 24 (SeeNews) – Serbia plans to start the construction of the Pozega-Kotroman section of a motorway that would link Belgrade to Bosnia's Sarajevo next year, Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said.
"The project documentation for the construction of the second section of the motorway from Belgrade to Sarajevo, Pozega-Kotroman, will be completed this year, and works can begin in 2021," Mihajlovic said in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency on Friday.
Construction works on the first section of the motorway, from Kuzmin to Sremska Raca, are progressing on schedule, Mihajlovic said during a meeting with Bosnian communications and transport minister Vojin Mitrovic in Belgrade.
In December, the Serbian government signed a 250 million euro ($270 million) contract with Turkish civil engineering company Tasyapi for the construction of the Sremska Raca-Kuzmin section and the preparation of the project documentation for the Pozega-Kotroman section.
