July 1 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government plans to start the construction of a new runway at the Morava airport next year, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said.
The government intends to launch the preparation of project documentation this year and to finance the construction works from the state budget, Mihajliovic said in a press release on Friday.
Last week, the government officially opened the Morava airport for international civil aviation operations.

Тhe government completed the first phase of the reconstruction of the airport in 2011, which allowed for the handling of passenger aircraft of up to 100 seats, but no commercial flights have been operated from the airport so far.
