September 18 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government expect to sign a commercial agreement for the construction of the Fruskogorski Corridor road by the end of the year, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said.
"We are negotiating for the construction of the Fruskogorski Corridor and I expect that by the end of the year we will sign a commercial agreement and then negotiate ways of financing," Mihajlovic said on Tuesday, as quoted in a statement by the infrastructure ministry.
In April, Serbia's government signed a cooperation agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for the construction of the Fruskogorski Corridor road, in order to partner in the preparation and execution of the project.
"It is extremely important to us that Fruskogorski Corridor is one of the priorities of the government, with it we get a bypass of Petrovaradin and two new bridges on the Danube," the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, said in the statement.
The cost of the Fruskogorski Corridor project is estimated at 400 million euro ($441.7 million), the ministry said in May 2017.
