December 4 (SeeNews) - EU member states have reached an agreement on the opening of Chapter 4 - Free Movement of Capital in the accession negotiations with Serbia, Serbian media reported.
The chapter will be opened during an intergovernmental conference in Brussels on December 10, Serbian public broadcaster RTS reported on Tuesday, quoting sources from the European Commission.
Serbia is technically ready to open Chapter 2 - Freedom of Movement For Workers, Chapter 14 - Transport Policy, and Chapter 21 - Trans-European Networks, but a political agreement has been reached only on the launch of negotiations of Chapter 4, RTS said.
In June, Serbia opened Chapter 9 - Financial Services. Serbia started accession talks with the EU in January 2014 and has already opened 17 of the 35 chapters of the EU body of law, two of which were provisionally closed.
