November 5 (SeeNews) - Serbia should hold regular parliamentary and local elections in the period between March 22 and April 5 next year, President Aleksandar Vucic has said.
"It is the desire of the people in the party to bring some changes after the election. We will have a lot of changes even before the election of candidates, and after the elections there will be a party conference," Vucic said in a press release issued by the governing populist conservative SNS party on Monday.
Тhe lists of the SNS for the upcoming elections will include at least 20% new candidates, mostly young people, Vucic added.
A coalition led by SNS won 131 seats in parliament in the early general election held on April 24, 2016. A total of 165 out of 250 members of Serbia's parliament support the coalition government of prime minister Ana Brnabic.
