March 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia plans to begin work on expanding a tech park in the southern City of Cacak this year, innovation minister Jelena Begovic said.
“Our aim is to double the number of startup companies that work here in the next few years,” Begovic was quoted as saying in a press release on Monday.
The city of Cacak has acquired 12,000 sq m of land and obtained building permission for the expansion, according to mayor Milun Todorovic.
Elsewhere in the country, Serbia will begin construction of the Bio 4 tech park in the capital Belgrade by the end of the year.
Serbia also plans to expand the capacities of its tech parks in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, and start the construction of a tech park in Krusevac later this year.
