June 2 (SeeNews) - Serbia plans to build a 34 million euro ($36.6 million) regional waste management centre in the northern city of Sombor, the local government said.
The project will be financed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the French Development Agency, the Sombor municipal government said in a press release on Thursday, after a meeting with representatives of Hungary's Horge Technologies.
The participants in the meeting discussed the development of technical documentation for the construction of a faclity for production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) at the waste management centre as part of the overall project.
The centre will deal primarily with the collection of municipal waste and its processing into raw materials for re-use.
Established in 2018, Horge Technologies specialises in gasification technologies of waste streams such as household waste, industrial waste and biomass, according to its LinkedIn profile.
