May 5 (SeeNews) - Serbia swung to a consolidated budget surplus of 11.8 billion dinars ($105 million/95.8 million dinars) in the first quarter of 2017, from a deficit of 15.98 billion dinars a year earlier, official figures show.
Total consolidated budget revenues grew a real 5.2% on the year to 449.9 billion dinars in the three months through March, while spending dropped a real 1.3% to 438.1 billion dinars, according to data posted on the website of the ministry on Thursday.
Tax revenues rose a real 6.1% to 386.4 billion dinars, non-tax revenues edged down 0.5% to 61.6 billion dinars, and grants jumped 31.2% to 1.9 billion dinars.
On the expenditure side, current expenditures dropped by a real 0.2% to 415.7 billion dinars, while capital expenditures plummeted 33.5% to 11.96 billion dinars.
In 2016, Serbia’s consolidated budget deficit contracted to 54.0 billion dinars from 149.1 billion dinars a year earlier.
