BELGRADE (Serbia), April 20 (SeeNews) – Serbian infrastructure ministry said the South Korean government has expressed interest in the launch of a direct flight connecting the two countries and the tender for awarding concession contract for the operation of Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla.
South Korea is interested in the launch of a weekly flight between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, following a visit of South Korean government delegation led by Deputy Minister for Office of Civil Aviation, Suh Hoon-Taik.
Serbia is ready to learn from the best players in the air transport sector, such as the Incheon International Airport in Seoul, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said in the statement.
The Serbian government said on Tuesday it has extended the deadline for submitting non-binding offers in the tender for a 25-year concession contract for operating Belgrade airport to May 25.
The Serbian government owns 83.1% of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla, the operator of Belgrade airport, which booked a 22% year-on-year rise in net profit to 21.6 million euro ($20.1 million) in the first ten months of 2016.
