April 7 (SeeNews) - Serbia has confirmed seven more deaths from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 58, as the total number of infected people rose to 2,200 as of April 6, the health ministry said.

Three men and four women at an average age of 64.5 years who had a number of associated diseases passed away as a result of COVID-19 in the 24 hours until 3 pm on April 6, the health ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Since the previous update on April 5, 1,192 persons have been tested for the virus in Serbia and 292 of them were positive, the ministry said.

A total of 101 COVID-9 patients were on mechanical breathing as of April 6.

Health minister Zlatibor Loncar announced the first case of COVID-19 in Serbia on March 6.
