April 9 (SeeNews) - Serbia has confirmed four more deaths from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 65, as the total number of infected people rose to 2,666 as of April 8, the health ministry said.
Four men at an average age of 65 years who had a number of associated diseases passed away as a result of COVID-19 in the 24 hours until 3 pm on April 8, the health ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Since the previous update on April 7, 1,135 persons have been tested for the virus in Serbia and 219 of them were positive, the ministry said.
A total of 112 COVID-9 patients were on mechanical breathing as of April 8.
Health minister Zlatibor Loncar announced the first case of COVID-19 in Serbia on March 6.
