March 27 (SeeNews) - Serbia has confirmed the seventh death from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on its territory, as the total number of infected people rose to 457 as of March 26, the director ofthe country's public health institute, Verica Jovanovic, said.
A 48-year old person passed away at the Dragisa Misovic hospital in Belgrade as a result of the coronavirus infection, Jovanovic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Thursday.
A total of 73 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Thursday, the health ministry said in a statement.
Health minister Zlatibor Loncar announced the first case of COVID-19 in the country on March 6.
