April 5 (SeeNews) - Serbia's budget was in a deficit of 52.9 billion dinars ($493.3 million/449.3 million euro) in the first two months of 2022, compared to a surplus of 7.5 billion dinars in the like period of 2021, official figures showed.
Primary budget deficit totalled 10.7 billion dinars, versus a 43.4 billion dinars primary budget surplus in January-February the year prior, according to data the finance ministry published on Monday.
Total budget revenues went up by a real 12.07% on the year to 240.1 billion dinars in the period under review, while expenditure increased 41.7% to 292.9 billion dinars.
Tax revenues went up by a real 16.9% to 218.9 billion dinars, non-tax revenues declined by 11.2% to 20.06 billion dinars, and grants decreased by 76.4% to 1.06 billion dinars.
Regarding expenditure, current expenditure rose by a real 39.7% year on year to reach 255.2 billion dinars, while capital expenditure went up by 39.4% to 31.5 billion dinars in the first two-month period of 2022.
In 2021, Serbia's budget balance showed a deficit of 286.1 billion dinars, compared to a deficit of 459.1 billion dinars in 2020.
