November 23 (SeeNews) - Serbia's energy minister Dubravka Djedovic said that the government is planning to raise electricity prices for households by less than 10% and to increase gas prices by 11% as of January 1.
The move will translate into an average increase by around 300 dinars ($2.67/2.55 euro) of the monthly electricity bills of Serbian consumers, Djedovic said in an Instagram post earlier this week.
Serbia raised electricity prices by 6.5% in September and hiked gas prices by 9% in August.
The current price of electricity is 8.144 dinars per KWh whilst gas is priced at 35.11 dinars per cubic metre, according to data from the Energy Agency of Serbia (AERS).
Serbia's annual consumer price inflation sped up to 15% in October, from 14% in June, the national statistical office said earlier this month.
