May 24 (SeeNews) - Serbia, which aims to launch the expansion of its natural gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor in June, is considering the construction of two more storage sites, energy minister Aleksandar Antic has said.
"We have in our development plans the Itebej gas storage facility with a capacity of 1 billion cubic metres, and as a third phase, we have the gas storage facility in Pancevo, named Tilva," Antic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of the Novo Jutro programme of Serbian private TV station Pink on Thursday.
Serbia aims to launch works on the expansion of its existing Banatski Dvor underground gas storage facility by 300 million cubic metres to 750 million cubic metres next month, he added.
In January, Serbian gas monopoly Srbijagas and Russia's Gazprom signed a memorandum of understanding which sets the main parameters of the planned expansion of Banatski Dvor.
