- If Serbia lifts its ban on the construction of nuclear power plants in the country, in force until 2015, the plant would be built along the Danube river, in the north, unnamed sources said. Another option also being considered is to build the plant near the border with Croatia, in the west, as a joint partnership between the two countries. Russia proposed earlier this week to assist Serbia in building a nuclear power plant.
- China has offered to lend Serbia 700 million euro to invest in thermal power complex Termoelektrane Kostolac, in the east, the CEO of Serbia’s power monopoly EPS, Dragomir Markovic, said. He added that the project is still in an early stage and the conditions for the loan have not been set yet.
