February 14 (SeeNews) - Serbia's infrastructure minister said she is due to meet her Croatian counterpart in two weeks to agree a protocol of cooperation on the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Zagreb railway line.
The planned revamp will cut sharply travel time, as a rail journey between the two capitals currently takes seven hours, Zorana Mihajlovic is quoted saying in a government press release.
The works on Serbian territory are estimated to total 250 million euro ($308.6 million), the minister noted.
On Serbian territory, the project envisages the reconstruction of both tracks of the Golubinac-Sid section of the railway line, as well as the overhaul of the Ruma-Sid section, the ministry said earlier.
The 412 km Belgrade-Zagreb railway line is part of pan-European Transport Corridor X linking Greece with Austria via Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia.
