October 10 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) plan to invest some 300 million euro ($353.8 million) in the construction of an industrial park in Belgrade, Serbian minister without portfolio in charge of innovation Nenad Popovic said on Tuesday.
Construction works are expected to begin in 2018 and to be financed by the Export-Import Bank of China, China Construction Bank and China Development Bank, Popovic said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug.
The project will be developed in three phases, with investment of 120 million euro, 100 million euro and 80 million euro, respectively, Popovic said on the sidelines of a meeting with the management of CRBC in Beijing.
The commercial agreement for the construction of the industrial park will be signed at the beginning of 2018 at the latest, Popovic said.
A total of 40 large Chinese companies have already expressed interest in setting up facilities in the industrial park, which will spread on 320 hectares on the left bank of the Danube river, near the Pupin bridge, he added.
