May 27 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government decided to extend the cap on sugar retail price to all sizes of packages due to a hike in the price of sugar sold in bigger packages.
The maximum retail price of one kilogram of sugar has been set at 89.99 dinars (0.76 euro/$0.82), regardless of the package size, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
So far, the price cap applied only to packages of one kiolgram.
The new regulation will remain in place for the next 150 days.
In November 2021, Serbia capped retail prices of sugar, wheat flour types T-400 and T-500, sunflower oil, pork and milk with 2.8% fat content to limit the impact of inflation.
