December 12 (SeeNews) - Serbia on Wednesday called presidential elections for January 20 next year.
The poll was called by the parliament speaker, a parliamentary official who declined to be named, told SeeNews.
The current head of state, Boris Tadic, was elected for his first five-year term of office in 2004 and is eligible to stand again.
Serbia is expected to hold local elections soon after the presidential vote, following the adoption of a new constitution in November 2006.
