April 11 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government has approved the appointment of Goran Adjic as general manager of state-owned railway operator Zeleznice Srbije, the company said.
Adjic will replace Miroslav Stojcic whose mandate was terminated, Zeleznice Srbije said in an e-mailed statement on Wednesday.
According to Serbian media reports, Stojcic asked to step down in February, after his term of ofice expired on January 17, but the government did not announce at the time whether it would appoint a successor.
The government also terminated the mandates of executive directors Nenad Kecman and Rajko Kovic, Zeleznice Srbije said.
Adjic, born in 1973, joined the Serbian railway operator in 2008 and has served as director for real estate at subsidiary Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije.
Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije was established as a joint stock company in 2015 as part of a reorganisation of Zeleznice Srbije which saw the uncoupling of the different sectors into separate companies.
