March 14 (SeeNews) - Sensata Technologies, an international manufacturer of sensors and controls for the automotive industry, officially opened on Tuesday a $3 million (2.82 million euro) testing laboratory, its largest worldwide, and mechanisation department in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.
"Now we are able to close the cycle of our processes only in one country and this is unique for Sensata," Paul Chawla, senior vice president of Sensata's European unit said during the opening ceremony.

The testing laboratory has a total area of 6,000 sq m. The company has hired 100 employees in the new facilities.
Sensata Technologies through its Bulgarian unit Sensata Technology Bulgaria also operates two sensor production plants - in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv and in Blagoevgrad, in the southwest of the country, and has a business centre based in Sofia. In Bulgaria the company has more than 3,000 employees.
