September 7 (SeeNews) - The rail freight carriers of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Slovenia have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which will serve as a framework to expand their partnership efforts, the Croatian transport ministry said on Monday.
The memorandum was signed in Zagreb by Croatia's HZ Cargo, Slovenia's SZ Tovorni Prevoz, Bosnia's Zeljeznice Federacije BiH and Zeljeznice RS, Montenegro's Montecargo, Macedonia's Makedonski Zeleznicki Transport and Kosovo's Trainkos, the ministry said in a statement.
The scope of the cooperation activities planned by the freight carriers in the region, which are facing market deregulation, includes providing mutual support in the implementation of organizational, technical and operational changes, exchanging expertise, information and ideas.
The meeting in the Croatian capital is the first in a series of get-togethers that are planned in the future, the president of HZ Cargo management board, Danijel Krakic, said in the statement.
