June 17 (SeeNews) - The region of Southeast Europe (SEE) has an untapped potential to develop shared services in the outsourcing sector, a senior official of consulting services provider Everest Group said.
"In Bulgaria, and in the region, there is certainly a potential for growing shared services, the vice president of research in Everest Group, Sarah Burnett, said on the sidelines of the Third Annual Outsourcing Conference in Sofia on Thursday.
Shared services centres in the region are just a few, she added. "They could be industry specific or back-office services and also should be combined with automation," the official added.
A key trend in the outsourcing sector is the integration of business and IT services, financial services and artificial intelligence, Burnett noted, adding that demand for technology and automation in outsourcing services in the region will be going up
As some of the challenges that the outsourcing companies are facing she pointed to poor infrastructure and few air connections.
