LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 17 (SeeNews) – Shares of Slovenian reinsurer Sava Insurance Group [LJE:POSR] rose the most among the blue-chip companies on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Friday, closing 2.99% higher at 17.2 euro, bourse data showed.
On Thursday, the company said its consolidated net profit rose to 10.9 million euro ($12.2 million) in the first quarter of 2019, from 4.6 million euro a year earlier. It also said that it has decided to change its umbrella brand name Sava Re Group to Sava Insurance Group to test the strength of the brand that best describes the group.
Nova Ljubljanska Banka [LJE: NLB] was the biggest blue-chip loser on Friday, as the lender's shares closed 1.29% lower at 61.2 euro.
The SBITOP index, which tracks the most liquid and capitalised stocks on the LJSE, closed 0.56% higher at 869.50 points on Friday.
Pharmaceuticals producer Krka [LJE:KRKG] contributed the largest portion, 92,880 euro, to Friday's total trading turnover on the LJSE, which fell to 361,430 euro from 599,360 euro on Thursday.
