May 15 (SeeNews) - Luxembourg-based communications satellite owner and operator SES Video has said it signed an agreement with Serbian group Telekom Srbija to distribute seven TV channels to cable and IPTV networks across Europe.
Under the agreement, Telekom Srbija is leasing additional capacity on the Astra satellite to broadcast TV channels Agro TV, Film Klub, Kitchen TV, Star TV and Zenska TV, SES Video said in a statement on Monday.
The agreement focuses on networks in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Montenegro and under its terms, three additional channels will be added in the summer, SES Video said.
"This TV package will offer a variety of Serbian and regional TV programmes to viewers across Europe. We have worked with SES on many different projects over the years, and we could not think of a better partner to rely on," Marijana Vukasinovic, Head of Content Management at Telekom Srbija, said in the statement.
In February, SES Video said it signed an agreement with Telekom Srbija to transmit TV channels RTS1, RTS2 and RTS Poletarac and radio stations Radio Beograd 202, Radio Beograd 2 and Radio Beograd 3.
The Serbian company and SES Video have an existing agreement to broadcast six TV channels and one radio station for RTS via 5 degrees East. With this new agreement, they now transmit the entire RTS channel portfolio at that orbital slot, SES Video said back in February.
