March 10 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair will launch this summer regular flights from Bulgaria's Burgas Airport to six destinations in Europe, including Poland's Warsaw, Krakow, and Gdansk this summer season, the airport's operator said on Thursday.
Besides flights to the Polish cities, Ryanair will introduce a new service connecting Bulgaria's coastal city Burgas with Austria's Vienna, London Luton Airport in the UK, and Hungary's Budapest as of April, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management said in a statement.
The first flights on the new routes will start on April 9 and will be performed until the end of October. Ryanair will operate between two and four flights per week to those destinations.
Fraport Twin Star Airport Management will make every effort to further increase the number of destinations serviced from its airports in Bulgaria, especially in times of negative prospects for tourism due to the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the company said.
Fraport Twin Star Airport Management runs Bulgaria's coastal airports in Burgas and Varna under a 35-year concession contract awarded in 2006. Fraport Twin Star Airport Management is a 60/40 joint venture of Fraport and Bulgarian company BM Star.
