October 30 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair said it has cancelled the planned launch of winter service to Serbia's Nis from Frankfurt but will connect Bosnia's Banja Luka to the German city in February, Bosnian media reported on Wednesday.
"We are sorry for the forced cancellation of our route due to the decision by the Serbian Civil Aviation Directorate to block the transport rights," news portal Biznisinfo.ba quoted a representative of the company as saying.
The airline planned to launch the Frankfurt-Nis service on January 13 and operate it twice a week, its flight schedule showed last month.
Biznisinfo.ba did not say what the frequency of the Banja Luka-Frankfurt service will be.
Banja Luka is the biggest city in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
