February 28 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost air carrier Ryanair said on Tuesday it expects to carry 1.6 million passengers to and from Sofia airport in 2017, up 77% year-on-year.
Ryainair expects to transport this year a total of 1.75 customers to and from its three Bulgarian destinations – Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said during a press conference, announcing the company’s winter 2017 schedule for Sofia.
Ryanair does not plan to launch domestic flights between the capital and Plovdiv or Varna, Jacobs added.
However, the company will launch additional flights on the routes connecting Sofia with London Stansted and Eidhoven.
Ryanair will operate 87 weekly flights on 21 routes to and from the Bulgarian capital.
