July 3 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has resumed operations in Montenegro with a flight linking Podgorica to Poland's Poznan, it said.
The flight marked the first of Ryanair’s Summer 2020 schedule for Montenegro, which now includes nine routes to destinations in Germany, Poland, Ireland and UK, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
"Ryanair is pleased to announce it has resumed its Montenegrin operations after four months grounded. Our Poznan to Podgorica flight marked the first of Ryanair’s Summer 2020 schedule for Montenegro, which now includes nine routes," Ryanair's sales and marketing manager Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Balkans Olga Pawlonka said.
To celebrate its first post-COVID-19 flights from Poland, Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares from just 19.99 euro one way, for travel in July and August, which must be booked by midnight July 6 on the Ryanair.com website, the company noted.
"Stepping into the post-COVID-19 future, Ryanair is set to resume flights from our airports to nine destinations. Today, we welcome the first flight from Poznan, then there is a flight from Berlin. Starting from tonight, Podgorica will become connected with Dublin for the first time," the managing director of state-owned airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore, Danilo Orlandic, said in the statement.
Montenegro closed its borders for foreigners and international transport in March to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The government started relaxing the measures in May.
