September 2 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair said it has added a second aircraft to its base in Croatia's capital and is launching nine new flights from Zagreb this week.
“We are delighted to deliver a second based aircraft to Zagreb as part of our expansion in Croatia. This is part of a $300 million (253 million euro) investment and will play an important role in supporting tourism recovery at Croatia’s capital as Ryanair delivers robust connectivity all year round,” Ryanair’s sales & marketing manager for CEE & Balkans, Olga Pawlonka said in a statement on Wednesday.
The new flights will connect Zagreb to Baden-Baden, Dortmund, Dusseldorf Weeze, Frankfurt Hahn, Malmo, Memmingen, Oslo Torp, Paris Beauvais, and Podgorica.
A third based aircraft is scheduled to operate from Zagreb from December, increasing to 24 the number of routes from Zagreb.
"As travel recovers to pre-Covid levels, Ryanair’s growth continues to lead traffic and tourism recovery across Europe," the company added.
Zagreb airport is Croatia's biggest international airport. French Aeroports de Paris (ADP), Turkey's TAV Airports, 46%-owned by ADP Group, hold stakes of 21% and 15%, respectively, in airport operator Zagreb Airport International Company.
